Quickie Korean Beef Bowl

This is a delicious one pan, one bowl Rachael Ray Weeknight kinda meal. Lean ground beef is flavoured with sweet Bulgogi sauce, and stir-fried with ginger, garlic and green onions. Serve over freshly steamed rice and you’ve got the flavours of Korean BBQ sans BBQ in 20 minutes. 

Quickie Korean Beef Bowl

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup Bulgogi sauce (or 1/4 cup brown sugar + 1/4 cup tamari or dark soy sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes, or more to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, mince
  • 1 large bunch green onions, thinly sliced

  • In a small bowl, whisk together Bulgogi, sesame oil, red pepper flakes and ginger.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks; drain excess fat. Stir in sauce mixture and green onions until well combined, allowing to simmer until heated through, about 2 minutes.
  • Serve immediately with rice.IMG_1955
