Caramelized Garlicky Chicken Legs

This recipe uses a few simple ingredients to make juicy BBQ chicken without the unnecessary drippy sauces (laden with sugar)! Placing garlic under the skin also imparts more flavour to the meat. A no-fuss recipe to add to your repertoire!

Caramelized Roast Chicken Legs

  • Servings: 2

  • 2 chicken legs
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp bbq sauce or honey
  • 1 garlic clove, minced or 1 tsp garlic powder
  • freshly ground pepper

Let’s cook

  1. Preheat oven 400F
  2. In a small bowl, whisk the soy sauce with BBQ sauce or honey
  3. Wash and pat chicken dry with paper towel
  4. Loosen the skin from the meat by gently sliding your fingers between
  5. IMG_20140329_153858Place the minced garlic under the chicken skin
  6. Brush the sauce over the skin and crack fresh pepper over it
  7. Bake 30 minutes on a greased roasting pan at 400F, then lower heat to 350 and bake an additional 15 minutes
  8. Serve your finger-licking BBQ chicken hot
