Sriracha BBQ Turkey Balls

Turkey is lower in fat, calories and cholesterol compared to beef and pork. However, it is also less flavourful on its own, so this recipe pairs Asian spices and smoky bbq flavours to make it a definite party pleaser! 

Sriracha BBQ Turkey Balls

  • Servings: 20 balls

  • 1 pound ground turkey 
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cm inch thick ginger, ground
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp chilli pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional)


  • 1/4 cup Sriracha Sauce
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey

Let’s cook:

  1. Preheat oven 350F
  2. Combine all ingredients other than sauce in a mixing bowl
  3. Roll into ~ 20 ping pong sized balls
  4. Heat a greased skillet and sear the meatballs on all sides until browned
  5. Transfer meatballs to oven and cook on a lined baking sheet for 25 minutes
  6. During the last 10 minutes that you are waiting for your meatballs, peel your face from the oven and heat the glaze ingredients in a small pot over low heat until it thickens
  7. Take tray out, plate the meatballs, and apply glaze just before serving
  8. Top with a bit of chilli powder for an added kick
