Okra “Fries”

Roast these slimy little buggers to create cripsy, succulent vegetable “fries”!

 

Okra is a fruit that is high in fibre, Vitamin C, Vitamin K and folate.  It helps to regulates blood sugar, reducers inflammation and promotes healthy gut flora. They are naturally “slimy” on the inside, but when roasted, they become the most addictive vegetarian finger-food! Try this super simple recipe, and you will understand!

Roasted Okra

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Okra 
  • 2 tsp Sesame oil
  • Fresh ground S & P
  • 1 tsp Chili powder

Let’s cook:

  1. Preheat oven to 425F
  2. Place Okra on a a baking sheet lined with foil
  3. Drizzle oil over the okra and sprinkle with salt, pepper and chili powder
  4. Give the sheet a good shake to evenly coat the pods
  5. Bake at 425F for 15 minutes
  6. Eat hot, don’t care to stop!
